[AGGRESSIVELY DOESN’T WANT TO KNOW THE DOCTOR’S NAME]
It’s not even that I don’t want to know it
It’s that I don’t think Steven Moffat has the right to name him
oh my god yes
that’s it
that statement is why I’m so angry
Why can’t he just be named The Doctor? That’s as much a name as anything else.
(also I like to think his name is Rumpelstiltskin.)
^ THIS
First of all, “the Doctor” is what he wants to be called, ergo it is his name
Second of all, out of every writer who has ever worked on the show, why should Moffat be the one who gets to make this decision (on the other hand, Moffat has made every effort possible to prove that the show is His Now, so I really wouldn’t put it past him)
Third of all, what does that say if Moffat decides that a “legal” “birth” name which is recorded only in the archives of a planet that no longer exists, a “name” which hasn’t been used in centuries, is more “real” than the name an individual actually is and wants to be called by
what does that say to trans* folks
what does that say to people who’ve changes their names for other reasons
what does that say to anyone who, for whatever reason, has changed their name, or prefers to go by a name other than what is on their government papers, or uses different names in different contexts
I just… wow Moffat you’re a terrible person
#Can’t wait to find out that you’re the alt universe version of River and also Donna’s great granddaughter and Martha’s adopted sister#and Romana’s metacrisis and Pete Tyler’s wife and Jack Harkness’ former time agent partner # jk hi I looooove your personality but I actually don’t care for this ~mystery angle.#I’d like to just get to know you properly. #Thanks. #when people write Aziraphale as all proper and soothing #no dude#his store is never open when the sign says it’s gonna be and he’s gonna follow you around the store like you’re a registered shoplifter #he’s gonna look at you judgmentally no matter which section you’re browsing and make you feel all self-conscious about your taste in books #the front entrance has an unmarked step and after you trip he’ll say ‘mind the step’ #and then again when you fall going out #probably empty-handed because none of the prices are marked and you don’t really want to ask him how much anything costs #he probably short-changes you if you do try to buy something #and accuses you of trying to short-change him when you question it #Aziraphale is literally everything you hate in a shopkeeper

How do people end up in relationship after relationship after relationship and I can’t find a single person to even find me remotely interesting for a solid ten seconds?
From now on when people ask me to explain why I love Misha Collins so much I’m going to say:
“Because he tweeted a photo of himself wearing a traffic-cone-orange blouse, as well as the most hideous patterned skirt I have ever seen in my life, standing in what appears to be the middle of a desert and I was not the least bit surprised.”
It’s just typical Misha being Misha and that makes him a pretty special guy.
