Hey what up ya'll? I’m Samara, allegedly an adult but in firm denial of the fact. Apparently a qualified journalist but I'll believe it when I see it. Currently seeking higher education because YOLO, right? I'm invested in way too many fandoms: Doctor Who, Supernatural, Rooster Teeth, The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Firefly, Lost, Harry Potter and most things Marvel. I'm deeply in love with my girlfriend and am a full time crazy cat lady (these two are not interrelated). I’m in a perpetual need of a haircut.

Still pretty proud of my response to this.

I was totally down with the change over already, but not knowing the backstory, this just convinced me so hard that Captain America needs to be a minority right now.
Before, Marvel said, “This is what you want? Well fuck you, he isn’t going to help you.”
Now Marvel is saying, “This is who you’re throwing under the bus? Who you’re tossing into prison like he doesn’t mean anything? Who you demonize regularly? Well fuck you, he’s going to save you anyway.”
And as far as the Thor thing, that whole, “If he be worthy part,” yeah, they’re giving the finger to the patriarchy right there saying, “Hey, women are worthy too.”
If these two things were spaced out, I might believe that they were just marketing ploy, but they come so close together at a time where this message is necessary, I can’t help but think that there are people at Marvel who get it and are going with it.
I mean, if they were willing to fight Hitler during WWII, why not be willing to fight some of the evils of today?

On the set of Avengers 2, you hear a shouting in the distance. The cast pauses, wondering what’s going on, and why set security hasn’t stopped this disturbance. It’s only then that they see what’s happening; Anthony Mackie has arrived on set bellowing “CAPTAIN AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” as he runs past Chris Evans, completely nude, and steals the shield never to be seen again that day.

Bucky mentally preparing himself for death is so fucking upsetting because after all of the torture he went through, after all of the physical and mental pain, he survived because Steve saved him, and here he is ready to die for him. He lets himself have this moment of fear because he knows what’s coming, he knows that he’s going to die and he allows himself to accept how scared he really is. He knew what he was getting in to when he made the choice to fight side by side with Steve (because what other choice was there really?), and part of him probably always knew this was how it would end - he was either going to live for Steve or die for him, the only thing left for him to do was to acknowledge his unhappy ending when the time came.

Admit it we were all a little bummed out that the old lady didn’t actually all that badass fighting in this scene

I WAS DEVASTATED

Agreed

 (stuffimgogingtohellfor)

I choose to believe that before the Alzheimer’s really set in Peggy and a bunch of the other retired ladies of SHIELD used to tell their families they were going out for bingo nights and then drive into the roughest parts of the city to bring some sweet vigilante justice. Nobody ever heard about it because none of the criminals were ever willing to admit they got their asses kicked by a bunch of grandmas, but there was a sudden drop in crimes against the elderly in DC.

 It got better
